Hiking in Newfoundland, is challenging as it rewarding, is quickly growing in popularity. Addventure X Lodge is located on the Newfoundland T'Railway. This decommissioned rail bed serves as a multi-use trail encompassing the "Trans Canada Trail", the "Appalachian Trail" and the western portion of the "Cormack Trail". We can help coordinate treks for any hikers who are committed to accomplishing any of these famous routes. Independent hikers can set their sites on the Add-X Lodge as a way point in their journey. We are 145 km from the Port aux Basques ferry.
Addenture X Outfitting provides an unlimited number of hiking opportunities in Bay St. Georges. A typical afternoon hike will take you up Steel Mountain on Flat Bay Brook. Reaching the summit brings you to the site of a residential forest fire patrol tower, once the best defense against fire. The breathtaking view will provide an excellent photo opportunity and a fulfilling reward to the uphill trek. Perhaps a hike through the country to view caribou and other wildlife is more your desire. Hiking does not have to be strenuous. Picking berries, bird watching and just enjoying Newfoundland's fresh air can be a hikers reward. We can arrange a trek to the highest point in Newfoundland in the Lewis hills. Let us know what your vision of a hike is and we will make it happen!
